An Angel In My Life

I have a lot of people in my life that I have been blessed with and whom I love. But there is one main person that words can't say how much I love her. She is my mom. My mom is an angel in my life. If there is someone other than God that I believe has an everlasting love for me, it is my mom. She loves me at my highest point, at my lowest, and she hurts when I hurt. A long time ago, my mom called me Elliot from the movie E.T. She compared our relationship to E.T. and Elliot's. At the time, I hadn't seen the movie so I hadn't really had an idea of what she was talking about. One day, we watched the movie together, and that's when I saw how their relationship resembled my mom and I's. I have always had a love for my mom that is different from anyone else. I can't really explain it. We are kinda a package deal and I couldn't be happier to have her walking through life with me as a mom, a friend, and my angel. The older I have gotten, the more I seem to appreciate her more. My mom loves me endlessly, she encourages me, she pushes me out of my comfort zone, she tests my patience at times, she makes me laugh, but most importantly, she has shown me something special about life. She has shown me that we only have today. She's taught me that we shouldn't be worrying about the future, because the present has enough exciting things in itself.

Maybe, we have such a close relationship because I am the youngest of 5, and we have gotten extra "alone time", or maybe it is because she feels that I need her most in my life. Whatever the reason may be, I am grateful for it. I know that a lot of people are not as lucky as my mom and I, so, I try to remember to thank God for her everyday and that our relationship will continue to grow in love and openness. I don't know what I would do without her, because she is my other half. Sometimes, I hate growing up, because it means less "mom time" sometimes for me. I've learned that it is all just a part of life though. I have to remember that no matter what she is there for me and she loves me at all times. Remembering this, makes me feel more secure. She is my safe place, my best friend, my favorite human, role model, and my angel! She defines love in a beautiful way and anyone who meets her is lucky enough to know her.

I love ya mamma bear.

What a life we live. Enjoy it,
Maggie
