Haily and I
My sophomore year in high school I took a class called parallel learning. In this class I got to help other high school students who had special needs. Some had autism, some were blind, some couldn't speak, but no one was like Haily. The first time I met Haily I knew she had something that others didn't. I am still trying to figure out that part about her. As I worked with them, they all became special to me, however, again, she had something about her that made me feel drawn to her. Haily's sweet and loving nature towards everyone made the ones around her feel worthy and cared for. I have known her for 4 years now and she never ceases to amaze me. She is smart, loving, caring, kind, joyful, goofy and much much more. She lights up every room she walks into. Her smile brightens up my day whenever I get to see her.
My note to Haily:
Dear Haily Marie,
I love you beyond measure and am so happy that you are in my life. You are beautiful inside and out. The way that you laugh and the fact that you always have a smile on your face is just one piece that I love about you. Remember, that you are loved, cared for, worthy of being heard, and special to each and every person that you meet. Being different isn't all that bad, it just makes you all the more special! You've taught me to love others and to love myself and I want to thank you for that. You are the person that I go to when I feel upset because you make me happy and reassure me that I am loved. You may not ever understand how much you mean to me, but I want you to know that you mean the whole WORLD to me. I love you to the moon and back Hails.
Love,
Maggie
I hope that you all will join me to be open to new people. Sometimes there is someone in our life that God has put there for a reason. I truly believe that God has placed Haily in my life for a lot of different reasons I am still trying to figure out. She is helping me grow in how I love, in how I care, she tests my patience, but most importantly she is my friend. My best friend and I am proud to say it. Sometimes the most rare person can teach you the biggest lessons in life. I highly suggest to get a friend like Haily because you will not regret it.
What a life we live. Enjoy it,
Maggie
