Embrace Your Messy

Learning how to embrace what comes to you in life can be hard. But it is those difficult battles that help you define what you believe the meaning to life is. How cool and special is that!? I truly believe that God places certain desires in your heart for a reason and I also believe that he places specific hardships in your life's journey for a reason. Sometimes it takes a long time to find out what those reasons may be but I can promise you one thing. Once you find those meanings behind the hard times, you will see how Jesus played a huge part in your life. I think that one of the best things that we can do when despair hits is come to the Lord. He has endless love and forgiveness for you and that in itself should be enough for us to go on. Sometimes life can seem unfair and can make you unhappy. But the truth is, that is how life is supposed to be. As much as life can be crappy and sad and draining, it can also be uplifting, happy, and beautiful. Sometimes you just have to seek for the beauty but that is not always a bad thing. Having to look for the good can help change our perspective on life. It can help us look for the truer beauty that there is to the life that we are living.

Psalm 73:26 says: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength and my portion forever.

Sometimes your heart can feel heavy and broken but one thing that never ceases to change is God. He will always be there for you no matter what and he will be strong for you when you feel you cannot. He is just there waiting for you with open arms, waiting for you to run back to him. No matter how many times we deny his love for us, no matter how many times we pretend like he doesn't exist or doubt his existence, or no matter how many times we do the same sin over and over again his love for us remains the same. I have said before, that if I could just grab coffee with Him every now and then it would be much easier for me to feel that He is real. But I think that is all part of the journey. To believe even when you cannot see everything clearly and to have faith that he does exist and that he loves you beyond measure.

So let's embrace our messy together. Let's see that there is goodness in the world even though at times it is hard to see. It is time to normalize everything in life that people go through. Whether that be mental illness, low self-esteem, wondering if you are a good parent, having a hard time at work, not sure what you are doing on this earth, wondering if you are good enough for your spouse, and so many more things. It is natural for people to judge other people but at the same time, that method that people are so comfortable with is not fair. Instead of judging we should be supporting, and meeting people where they are at.

Always remember: You are worthy, You are seen, You are where you are in life for a reason, God's love for you is endless, instead of expecting people to meet you where you are at-encourage them to do so because many will not. Sometimes you can be your biggest critic, but I am here to tell you, that isn't a healthy thing to do. You need to be your biggest support system! You cannot rely on others to always agree with your decisions or be okay with where God has put you in your life. Be happy for yourself with how far you have come and rely on God's love to get you through the messy parts of life. There is no better time to let go and let God! He is the one thing in your life that will not change, be thankful for that.

What a life we get to live. Enjoy it,

Maggie
